It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.
  • Sam, Get Cape Wear Cape FlySam, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly: ilikemusic because... Music is a special thing that is not like anything else in the world. You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people.

Reverend And The Makers chat to I Like Music

JON: Bless you. I haven't updated it for some time. I started blogging because I used to do a lot of poetry online. But then blogging became the trendy thing to do didn't it?

ILM: Yeah, like a marketing/hype-building tool.

JON: Yeah, if you're gonna blog, at least have some skill at writing and say something interesting, rather than like, 'I ate cornflakes for breakfast.' It's like MySpace and all these things; they become hijacked for evil, that's the way I feel anyway. It's like 'oooh that's a good idea, we can make money out of that.'

ILM: Yeah, so again, it's getting away from the truth …

JON: Indeed.

ILM: So…your debut album State of Things did really well. Which track on the album was the most fun, most enjoyable to record?

JON: Heavyweight (Heavyweight Champion Of The World) because we tried that a few times and did it wrong and then, when we got it right, it was like, 'yeah man.' And that's been the one that has kicked it all off.
