Texas are one of the few very talented bands who have been around for almost 20 years, but still manage to top the charts.
Back with a new 'classic Texas' single, Getaway (out August 1st) and new album, Red Bookto follow in October, Texas are testament to music's staying power.
Having recently played two intimate live gigs at Ronnie Scotts and King Tuts, the band are embarking on their first UK tour in four years this Autumn.
ilikemusic.com caught up with Texas lead singer, Sharleen Spiteri to find out more.
ILM: How have you enjoyed the summer so far, or have you been holed up in the studio?
Sharleen: Most of the work that was done over this summer has been doing videos and getting everything ready and getting the artwork done, and just making sure the running order is right on the record and stuff, so it's not been so much studio work, it's just been making sure that everything that goes along with the record is right.
ILM: And how were your intimate live shows at Ronnie Scotts and King Tuts?
Sharleen: Yeah, they went really well. It was just really good to see such a warm response to what we're doing and I think from the e-mails coming through from the record company, people were really happy with the show and said 'wow' and how much they liked the new stuff, so yeah, some great feedback.
