But it was Queens Of The Stone Age who had the biggest response of the day with hundreds of crowd surfers getting to know the security a little better as they piled over the front barrier and were led to safety, only to re appear minutes later bobbing above the heads of their mates with enormous grins plastered across their faces once again.
We bumped into Zoe Ball, presenting for the official VFestival TV show, and she agreed that QOTSA rocked!
"At V-festival yesterday and today I'm loving Queens Of The Stone Age, PJ Harvey, The Foo Fighters, Super Furry Animals, and Tim Burgess," said Zoe, who'd left her boys, Fatboy Slim and Woody at home while she interviewed the stars.
"I'm not the biggest Red Hot Chili Peppers fan, but don't tell them that because I've got to interview them," adds Zoe. "No, I much prefer the heavier stuff, QOTSA are amazing, and I got to interview Dave Grohl and he gave me a hug and Jo Wiley will be jealous, and I sang with Gryf from Super Furrys. He had his guitar and he said 'join in,' and we did 'Hello Sunshine' - well I did one line and I was terrible, and then he carried on on his own, but it just made my day."
