Madonna Reinvention World Tour 2004

madonna vogue pose and 2004 tour photo Madonna has kicked off her first major tour in three years which comes to the UK in August 2004. Rumours are that this will be Madonna's last world tour and will be followed by a Greatest Hits Album. MADONNA will play shows across the United States and Europe.

The re-Invention world tour debuted in Los Angeles on May 24, and take in San Francisco, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta and Miami.

"There is no doubt that this tour will be the pinnacle of her long-standing and well-deserved reputation as one of the most exciting live performers of our time."

Madonna added a second date to her UK tour after tickets for the first sold out in minutes.

Her re-Invention tour will now come to London's Earls Court on August 19, as well as August 18. As well as Wembley Arena on August 22, 23, 25 and 26th.

Tickets for the shows are priced at £150, £90, £75, and £50, plus booking fee.

Tickets for the first concert, Madonna's first big UK show in three years, sold out as soon as they went on sale.

Tickets are already being sold for hundreds of pounds on eBay with bidding for one pair already at more than £1,000.

But fans won't be disappointed, with all the old favourites, making an appearance, including an acoustic version of Crazy For You, and a new version of Vogue, where Madonna is said to name check Britney Spears and The Spice Girls. Plus an emotional rendition of John Lennon's 'Imagine'.

Madonna plans shock tactics once again to spread her ant-war message through her music.

Fans will see Madonna being "frazzled" in an electric chair, and images of people killed in Iraq will be shown on a huge video screen.

An insider told The Sun there'll be simulated lesbian sex when she tangos with a female dancer, and the show will feature a parade of scantily-clad pregnant women while she sings Papa Don't Preach.

Madonna has been putting the finishing touches to the massive production, which is costing more than £1million.

After her performance of Lament, from the musical Evita, the stage will be plunged into darkness. There will be a flash of fireworks and Madonna will be seen strapped in an electric chair.

Her stage version of single American Life will be a big anti-war statement. The sound of bombs dropping will be linked with onstage video footage of troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The tour opens in California next Monday and arrives in the UK in August.
