Rhys, Good Shoes: ilikemusic because... It gets you moving.
Master Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
prince of persia: ilikemusic because... i havent any other way
Hyperactiveproductions.com.au: ilikemusic because... It's the drug inside me, don't need nothing else to help me...
Chris, Orson: ilikemusic because... Well, is there anything else? Music is the perfect thing, it makes you feel good, it makes you feel sad, it makes you feel happy, what else is there?
Leon Jean-Marie: ilikemusic because... It transcends. It really creates emotion with someone. That feeling it gives you, it goes through boundaries. To create something, it just breaks through all the walls. When you connect with a song, that is it, that is magic isn't it?
Sam, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly: ilikemusic because... Music is a special thing that is not like anything else in the world. You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people.
Carvadeya: ilikemusic because... It makes it easier for me to get away with doing things like wearing make-up and nail varnish!
Tom Baxter: ilikemusic because... It makes you feel alive more than anything else. The Red Hot Chilis paid a visit to London's Hyde Park on the weekend of June 19/20th - and what a treat! The best live band on the planet didn't disappoint, even if you were one of the few concerned about the volume and sound (ie not loud enough due to the wind), or the weather (grey and cloudy with one downpour, but a proviso of a gorgeous sunset and moody setting for a ravishingly rad RHCP performance), or, indeed the first support act to grace the stage the Chicks on Speed. Ok, so they the talent quotient appears fairly low, but at least their flurescent outfits and zany, robotic 'I am playing my guitar' lyrics and franetic antics brightened the place up.
Sadly, they were booed off stage (a cringeworthy experience I always find - crap or not - respect is due to any performer taking to any stage anywhere - and Flea agreed as he said 'F**k you!' to the 'booers'). Next up was the Godfather of Soul, one elderly James Brown, who still managed to show off some fancy footwork and croon a few lines inbetween the 'ows' and 'yeahs' - and gave the crowd a real treat with 'Soul Man' and 'Get On Up', leaving out crowd-favourite 'Living In America' (perhaps because of the current political climate and Flea's forthcoming anti-Bush statements). The dazzling band, soul diva backing singers, and James Brown's reassuringly static 70s hair style had us all 'gettin on down' and enjoying the vibe - Yeah baby!
