Red Hot Chili Peppers Live Review

Naturally, inbetween astonishment at the length of the beer/toilet queue, talk centred around the mighty Chilis, who took to the stage as the heavens opened. Fortune Faded, Otherside and 20 songs from a career spanning 20 years belted out with just as much passion as the day they began. The set included bass and drum solos from Flea and Chad, plus a marvellous rendition of Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love' and a thrashed up metal mayhem version of one of the favourite underground bands from LA.

All the favourites were included, with Scar Tissue, Get On Top, The Zephyr Song, By The Way, Can't Stop, Throw Away Your Television and Californication - and the incredibly outstanding guitar-playing skills of Flea and John showcased throughout, and one of the big talking points of the day - awesome! Anthony Kiedis's strong vocal combined with John Frusciante's harmonies made the Chilis experience London one of the highlights of the musical year. Talent at its absolute best.

After Chad's We Will Rock You encore, the band put the lid on the bottle of an outstanding live show with Under The Bridge and Give It Away. It doesn't get much better than the Chilis live - Hot, whatever the weather!page << 1 2 >>
