AIR-GUITAR AEROBICS Rocks Londoners Into Shape This Summer!
The loudest exercise craze to hit London for years is making a comeback for a summer of ROCK . Music Choice have linked up with trendy London gym GYMBOX to bring its Air-Guitar-Aerobics workout back to the UK.
Music Choice, Europe's leading digital TV music broadcaster first brought the all action air-guitar based workout to the UK in January as Europe was experiencing a renaissance in the popularity of rock music. Now as a summer of music festivals beckons the Air-Guitar-Aerobics phenomenon is back.
With Oasis playing at Glastonbury and the Darkness headlining at Reading air-guitar's will be out in force this summer. To get Londoner's in the mood and into shape Air-Guitar-Aerobics classes are being held at the London gym where anything goes - GYMBOX in Holborn.
Classes are absolutely free thanks to Music Choice and will take place at GYMBOX, 100 High Holborn, every Thursday at 6.45pm from July 8th for four weeks (see below for further details).
The workout, a mixture of traditional aerobics moves and rock'n'roll, is performed to a soundtrack of air guitar classics from the likes of Queen, ACDC and Guns'n'Roses rather than the usual pumping dance music. What could be better than listening to rock music and pulling off the trademark moves of guitar greats such as the Townshend Windmill, the Angus Young shuffle, the May Mosh and the Parfitt sway?
American dance tutor Laila Hardman, who devised the class for Music Choice says this about its benefits: "This is a really cool workout that's a lot of fun. It works all the major muscle groups paying particular attention to the legs and the upper body. Because of the high tempo of the music it also provides a full-on cardio vascular work out."
The basic Air-Guitar-Aerobics moves can be found on www.musicchoice.co.uk. from July. Music Choice's main event channel, Sky Channel 480 will be playing the best air guitar tracks throughout July, so you can try the latest fitness craze in the comfort of your own living room.
Classes take place at GYMBOX, 100 High Holborn, London, every Thursday in July from July 8th - 6.45pm - 7.30pm. Please call GYMBOX to book your place as classes are sure to be oversubscribed - 020 7400 1919.
