I Like Music Because heading
  • Master GeeMaster Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.

Katie Melua - Crawling Up A Hill

Upon graduating from the Brit School, Katie Melua began working with Mike Batt on the songs for her first album, which has a jazzy, bluesy feel. Her single, "The Closest Thing To Crazy", went to number ten in the UK singles charts in December 2003. The album "Call Off The Search" reached number one in January 2004.

The third, and equally stunning single is Crawling Up A Hill, released on July 19, 2004 - this time with a strong bluesy jazzy vibe. Sweet perfection, and heartfelt blues lyrics. Katie will be taking her music on the road in July, with appearances at Guilfest, Source Festival and Craithnes Castle.

Meanwhile, poor Katie is shocked and scared after papers detailing her every move for the rest of the year were put up for sale on the Internet.

According to The Sun, the papers list the teenage singer's gigs, which airports she will be flying from, flight details - and even which hotels she will stay at.

The seller - known only as bandro1186 - claims to have found the extensive schedules backstage at Guilfest 2004 in Guildford, Surrey, on Saturday last week. They have been put on auction site eBay to try to make as much money as possible from Katie's fans.
