Amy Winehouse & Iron Maiden Celebrate 50 Years of the Fender Stratocaster

EXCLUSIVE FENDER ANNIVERSARY C/C HOTLINE: 0871 2200 260
Iron Maidenıs Bruce Dickinson, Adrian Smith and Nicko McBrain are the latest names to be added to the star-studded event of 2004, the MILLER STRAT PACK concert on Friday 24 September at Wembley Arena, in aid of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy. It is also rumoured that the Iron Maiden contingent will be joined by none other than the legendary Black Sabbath axe-man Tony Iommi and Scorpions guitarist Matthias Jabs in an unprecedented meeting of metal titans to perform hits by Sabbath, Deep Purple and, of course, Iron Maiden.
Celebrating 50 years of rock nı rolls biggest icon, the Fender Stratocaster guitar, the Maiden boys will join many of the worldıs greatest living guitar legends in once-in-a-lifetime meeting of historyıs greats. Bruce, Adrian and Nicko will play alongside Stratocaster-playing heroes including David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Joe Walsh (The
Eagles), Hank Marvin (The Shadows), The Crickets, Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music), Paul Rodgers (Free / Bad Co.), Mike Rutherford/Paul Carrack (Mike & the Mechanics) and Gary Moore with more still to be announced.
The legends will also be joined on the night by
Amy Winehouse and Jamie Cullum in a triumphant combination of vintage and contemporary artists.
It has been confirmed that David Gilmour will be playing his serial-numbered 0001 Stratocaster on the night, one of the very first of its kind made by Leo Fender in July 1954. Unconfirmed reports have suggested that it may be the last time Davidıs 0001 Strat will be played live; by David anyway.
First unveiled in the early fifties, the Fender Stratocaster rapidly rose to iconic status through boundary-pushing artists such as David Gilmour with Pink Floyd, Joe Walsh for his distinctive country-rock riffage and, probably the most famous Strat player of all time Jimi Hendrix. Following a stratospheric performance at the Monterey festival in June 1967, Jimi successfully positioned the Fender as one of the most iconic guitars ever when he was photographed on his knees, as his Strat burnt on the stage in front of him.
Tickets are now on sale and are available through the exclusive Fender 50th Anniversary Credit Card Hotline on 0871 2200 260 (24hrs) and Gigs & Tours by visiting.
