It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.

Estelle Supports The Roots

No stranger to the stage, Estelle cut her teeth spitting rhymes at hip hop jams such as the Lyric Lounge and Scratch in London. With a Mobo Award under her belt and the release of her album "The 18th Day", she is now ready to step up to the next level and take her show on the road. Estelle's first major outing went down a storm at Islington Academy this week where she played to a packed out crowd and received rave reviews:

"Estelle has what it takes to back up the hype." The Evening Standard

"She has worked hard for 6 years to get this far and it really shows. She was incredible." The Sun

Among the crowd was Sean Paul who told her she has "100% talent", and

Rio Ferdinand who said she "blew him away".

Estelle's reputation is also growing stateside. She has already performed with US artists Justin Timberlake, Public Enemy, Talib Kweli and Philly legends The Roots, among many others.

The Roots have since invited her to join them on the UK leg of their forthcoming tour.
