Alexandra Burke and Editors Top Charts

Alexandra Burke, winner of the X Factor 2008, has stormed to the top of the UK singles chart with her single Bad Boys featuring Flo Rida.

Bad Boys was closely followed by Bodies at number two, the comeback single from Robbie Williams. Both stars performed live on the X Factor last weekend and it has been revealed that Alexandra Burke sold twice as many copies (185,000) as Robbie's Bodies. According to the Official Charts Company, Bodies' sales figures of 90,000 would have easily given Robbie a number one in almost any other week.

Alexandra's debut single Hallelujah was the best selling single of 2008. Bad Boys has now easily become the fastest selling single of 2009, beating Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal which held onto the number one spot for two weeks.

Oopsy Daisy, last week's number one by UK urban sensation Chipmunk slipped to number three. Taio Cruz remained at number four with Break Your Heart, while Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys slipped two places to chart at number five with Empire State Of Mind.

A new entry into the UK singles chart came from Michael Buble, whose single Haven't Met You Yet entered the chart at number seven.

The UK Album Chart saw British indie rockers Editors fly to the top with their third album In This Light and On This Evening coming straight in at number one. This was closely followed by a new entry for Chipmunk, his album I Am Chipmunk landed at number two.

Madonna's Greatest Hits compilation Celebration slipped to chart at number three, followed by a new entry for Shakira with her album She Wolf charting at number Four.

The top five was completed this week by Paolo Nutini, whose former number one album Sunny Side Up jumped from number 31 to chart at number five this week.
