Amy Winehouse says "Husband Saved My Life"

Amy Winehouse Rehab cover / Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own Amy Winehouse says that her husband Blake Fielder-Civil saved her life after she took a drugs overdose in August and he took her into hospital.

"I really thought I was on my way out," says Amy who has been battling depresion since she was 16.

"Often I don't know what I do," she told The Sun. "Then the next day the memory returns. Blake told me later what had happened and then I was engulfed in shame."

"Recently I saw a picture of when I came out of the hospital. I didn't recognise myself."

She told The Sun: "I really thought I was on the way out. My husband Blake saved my life, brought me into the hospital."

Amy also said she feels lucky to have music. "I believe there are lots of people who have these mood changes. I just have this great good luck to have found this outlet - my music."

The singer recently started her 12-date European comeback tour following wins at the MOBO and Q awards. Her I Told You I Was Trouble DVD is out in November 2007.
