Amy Winehouse Triumphs at Ivor Novello Awards
Amy Winehouse has won the award for Best Contemporary Song for her Rehab single at this year's Ivor Novello songwriting awards, considered to be the most prestigious awards in British music.
Madonna also triumphed, scooping the award for International Hit of the year for her Sorry single.
Meanwhile, Arctic Monkeys collected the Best Album award for Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not. But Singer-songwriter Scott Matthews beat Artic Monkeys and Robbie Williams to secure the award for best song musically and lyrically for his song Elusive.
Collecting her award at the central London ceremony, Amy Winehouse joked: "Thank you all very much, I didn't even have time to get drunk, I've only been here about 15 minutes."
The Feeling received the award for Songwriters Of The Year, and the Best Selling Single award went to the songwriters behind Leona Lewis's number one single A Moment Like This, while the PRS outstanding contribution to music award went to DJ Norman Cook.
Norman Cook said, "To everyone whose songs I've re-mixed, sampled or stolen or been in a band with, I would like to say thank you."
