Arctic Monkeys win Best Act In the World Award

Arctic Monkeys have received the Q Award for best act in the world today. The band were also nominated for Best Live Act and Best Album. However, Amy Winehouse took home the Best Album award for Back To Black, while Muse took the Best Live Act award.

Q Magazine celebrates its 21st birthday soon and held its annual Q awards at London's Grosvenor House Hotel earlier today.

Kaiser Chiefs took home the award for Best Video for Ruby and Manic Street Preachers were awarded with Top Track Award for Your Love Alone is Not Enough. Top Breakthrugh Artist was Kate Nash while the Best New Act award went to The Enemy.

Kylie Minogue was awarded with the Idol of 2007 accolade and received a standing ovation at the ceremony, while Icon of the Year was awarded to Sir Paul McCartney. The audience cheered his tribute to his late wife Linda.

"I thank Linda for seeing me through some real tough periods," said Sir Paul, before thanking his former Beatle bandmates and his "fantastic, beautiful" children.
