Arctic Monkeys lead this years Q Awards shortlist

The Arctic Monkeys lead this year's Q Awards shortlist for with four nominations in total.

They've already won the highly acclaimed Nationwide Mercury Prize and are now shortlisted in the Best Album, Best Live Act, Best Track and Best New Act categories.

Muse have three nominations and are also shortlisted for Best Album for their Black Holes and Revelations album. Joining Muse and Arctic Monkeys on the Best Album shortlist year, include Razorlight's self-titled album, Kasabian's Empire, Keane's Under the Iron Sea, and Snow Patrol's Eyes Open.

Muse and Arctic Monkeys will also battle it out for Best Live Act, up against Oasis, Razorlight and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Nominees for the Best Act In The World Today, an impressive moniker, are last-year's winners, Coldplay, Oasis, Music, U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Best New Act nominees alongside Arctic Monkeys are Lily Allen, Corinne Bailey Rae, The Kooks and Orson.

While Gnarls Barkley, Snow Patrol, Scissor Sisters and The Feeling are up against Arctic Monkeys for Best Track.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 30 October to be presented by Jonathan Ross.
