BBC Electric Proms - Shirley Bassey & Robbie

The BBC have announced pop icon Robbie Williams and legendary singer Dame Shirley Bassey as the final headline acts to perform at this year's BBC Electric Proms, which takes place at The Roundhouse in London from 20th - 24th October 2009.

Robbie Williams will open this year's BBC Electric Proms on Tuesday 20th October. He will be accompanied by a string section, horn section and full band in a show featuring new material from the forthcoming album 'Reality Killed the Video Star' alongside some classic tracks - all overseen by Musical Director Trevor Horn. This Electric Proms show at the Roundhouse will be Robbie's first live UK stage performance since his Close Encounters tour of 2006, and will be broadcast on BBC Radio 1.

Superstar singer Dame Shirley Bassey will grace the Roundhouse stage on Friday 23rd October with an unique performance celebrating 50 years at the top of showbusiness. Dame Shirley will be performing some of her most famous tracks alongside new songs from her forthcoming album, 'The Performance'. Dame Shirley will be joined on stage by the BBC Concert Orchestra for her only live show this year. The show will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2.
