Last year's Critic's Choice winner ADELE, virtually unknown at the time, went on to achieve platinum status with her number one debut album '19'. The 'Critics Choice' Award will continue to focus on new British acts the critics are tipping to break through in 2009. The shortlist and eventual winner will be chosen by a team of experts made up of music critics from the print, radio and online media.
