Lily Allen, Muse and Thom Yorke Win Digital Music Awards
Hundreds of musicians, celebrities, and music industry professionals flocked to Camden's legendary Roundhouse, where Edith Bowman announced the winners of the BT Digital Music Awards 2006.
Lily Allen, Lemar, Lorraine, White Stripes and The Streets all walked away with gongs on the night, with Peter Gabriel picking up a special 'Pioneer Award' recognising his contribution to the world of digital music over the years - a first for the BT Digital Music Awards.
This year's big winners were Muse and Radiohead's Thom Yorke who each walked away with a two awards a-piece. Other winners on the night included Lily Allen for 'Best Pop Artist', McFly for 'Best Official Website', NME for 'Best Music Magazine', MySpace for 'Best Innovation' and London Elektricity for Best Podcast.
I Like Music was shortlisted for the Best Music Magazine as one of just five nominees from hundreds of entries. But we were happy for NME.com to win the award. It's their 10th anniversary online after all and they are the 'daddy' with the most users. But as a team of two, we were thrilled to be nominated. Watch this space!
