Natasha Bedingfield and Muse Scoop BT Digital Music Awards
Music fans that weren't lucky enough to bag a ticket to the exclusive event can catch all of the action in an hour-long awards show presented by Alex Zane on Channel 4 on Friday October 5th at 00.40.
With eleven million broadband lines in the UK, there has never been a better time to recognise digital music - with more than 90% of all single sales now being digital, over 1.5 million downloads are sold per week and annual download sales have grown from zero in 2003, to 5.8million in 2004, 26.5 million in 2005 and 53.0 million in 2006.
Gavin Patterson, group managing director consumer for BT says: "Digital is at the very heart of the music business today and more than ever a core part of our lives. There are now more and more ways for fans to access and discover exciting new music and digital has enabled music buyers to get even closer to their favourite acts. The BT Digital Music Awards continues to recognise the artists and those in the industry, both established and up and coming, who are delivering the best in cutting-edge digital music entertainment."
