I Gotta Feeling was over taken last week as Tinchy Stryder claimed the number one spot with his single Never Leave You, featuring Sugababe Amelle. This week however, Black Eyed Peas have jumped back into the number one spot, forcing Tinchy Stryder to chart at number two.
As a result, Black Eyed Peas have become the first act in history to reclaim a number one spot twice. Their single Boom Boom Pow went to the top of the UK singles charts in May 2009 and then once more in June 2009, marking their first chart re-claim, only to be repeated this week with I Gotta Feeling.
Calvin Harris was a new entry in the singles chart at number three with his track Ready For The Weekend.
The second highest new entry came from Peter Andre at number four with his single Behind Closed Doors. Andre's quest for chart glory has been recently documented in a string of promotional interviews announcing his pop come back, following his split from glamour model wife Katie Price, aka Jordon.
The top five singles were completed by Beyonce's Sweet Dreams.
Michael Jackson's The Essential remains at the top of the album chart for the seventh week runnning. His previous albums Thriller and Bad each spent five consecutive weeks at number one, as a result, The Essential's seven week reign marks a new record for a Michael Jackson album, according to The Official Charts Company.
Beyonce's I Am Sasha Fierce charted at number two, followed by Black Eyed Peas' album The End at three. Paolo Nutini followed at number four with his second album Sunny Side Up. The album chart top five was rounded off by the Stone Roses 20th Anniversary re-issue of their debut album The Stone Roses at number five.
