Lady Sovereign: ilikemusic because... I do!The latest single from US hip-hop purveyors Black Eyed Peas has topped the UK singles chart this week. Their track I Gotta Feeling rose two places in the top ten this week to chart at number one, knocking last week's top track Beat Again by JLS down to number two.
This marked another opportunity for the Black Eyed Peas to celebrate. They recently set a new record for the longest successive stay at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 by a duo or group. They achieved their first UK number one in 2003 with Where Is The Love, which spent six weeks at the top of the charts. They returned to the UK charts in May 2009 with Boom Boom Pow, their first record in three years, which also reached number one.
Beat Again by JLS at number two was followed by Mr Hudson with his track Supernova at three, I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) by Pitbull at four and Evacuate The Dancefloor by Cascada at number five.
Michael Jackson's Essential Collection remained the number one album in the UK album chart this week. The only new entry in the album chart came from Scandinavian band A-ha, whose album Foot of the Mountain entered the chart at number five.
