CSS And Surprise Guest Inspired by Rizla at The Forum, Kentish Town: December 8th 2006

Rizla are rounding off another inspiring year of live music by hosting an exclusive one-off gig with wild Brazilians CSS (Cansei de Ser Sexy) featuring a cameo performance from one of UK music's most popular artists.

CSS, one of the hottest emerging bands of 2006, were asked by Rizla, to choose their most inspiring musician to perform with at the finale of their London show. The identity of the inspiration is being kept a closely guarded secret, but is a bona fide Britpop icon, who remains one of the most charismatic figures in today's music scene.

The Sao Paulo collective CSS, crashed into the UK earlier this year with their haphazard electro pop sound, garnering critical acclaim following the release of their debut album on Sub Pop.

CSS claim that their inspiration is not São Paulo, but the internet. As evinced by "Meeting Paris Hilton" and "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above," CSS makes unshakably clear its predilection for the glorification of pop culture. Between funky dancehall and keys that bubble and bounce, lead Lovefoxx continues to yell and throws down vocals in a way that is wholly unafraid—shameless in the best of ways—and the rest is filled in with wire-thin guitars, swift drums and manic hooks.

Their live show and collaboration for Rizla promises to be truly special as anyone who's seen the band perform will testify.

Lovefoxx says of the gig: "When Rizla first approached us about who has inspired us and would like to play with, we never really thought it would happen as this person is such a legend and we're so new to the UK music scene. We now can't wait to entertain London with an unforgettable kick ass show. It's been an amazing year for the band and this is a really special way to round it off."

Rizla's inspired-by programme of live music, festivals, exhibitions and club nights celebrates inspirations in music from the past and present through the talent of today.
