Casiokids Tour Dates Oct 2009

October sees Norway's breakthrough pop quintet Casiokids return to the UK for a full tour including shows at Camden's Proud Galleries and a party with Little Boots as part of The Warehouse Project in Manchester.

Recently tagged by excitable UK media as 'the hottest tip since Hot Chip' (NME), 'most impressive' (Guardian Guide) and 'a Scandinavian sensation' (The Independent) Casiokids have also pricked up the ears of UK stalwarts The Doves who upon hearing the last single, keenly requested the band support them on tour.

Upcoming tour:

October 2009
01 - Start the Bus, Bristol
02 - New Hero, Brighton
03 - Farmhouse, Canterbury
05 - Kasbah, Coventry
06 - Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh
07 - Korova, Liverpool
08 - Oakford Social Club, Reading
09 - West End Centre, Aldershot
10 - Proud Galleries, London
12 - University, Sheffield
13 - Fibbers, York
14 - Deaf Institute, Manchester

November 2009
29 - The Warehouse Project w/ Little Boots, Manchester

Casiokids' brilliant third single Finn Bikkjen is out now through Moshi Moshi Records (responsible for discovering Hot Chip, thecocknbullkid, Friendly Fires, Late of the Pier amongst many more).

The single showcases Casiokids' two distinctive sides, Finn Bikkjen will undoubtedly be a sunset festival favourite - marking day into night, dreamy hankering vocals sit neatly on top of their trademark electro afropop making it a Balearic percussive stomper. Gomur Mamma will keep the more underground clubheads happy - bouncy percussive basement music, eerie melody and distorted bass.

Drawing inspiration from Paul Simon's Graceland, Ivor Cutler, King Tubby, Bob Hund, Cornelius and Fela Kuti, Casiokids are unfolding as one of the bands to watch. If things progress at the current rate, this could well be an essential band for 2009.
