Colin MacIntyre Tour Dates Oct 09

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Colin MacIntyre can confirm a full UK Tour for his album '
Island for October 2009. He has preceded this tour with a memorable Homecoming 2009 gig back home on the Isle of Mull, a truly special night, which bodes well for the tour.

Album launch shows in New York have been confirmed for 6th & 8th October. Island was released in Europe on 7th Sept and is out in the USA on 29th Sept.

His most stripped-back album to date, MacIntyre crafted Island in St Augustine, USA and recorded it back home on Mull in his old school. It includes contributions from King Creosote, the Mendelssohn On Mull string players, local musicians, & members of his own family.

This will be a different kind of tour says MacIntyre: "It will feature only acoustic instrumentation. It will be a unique experience for me & the audience I hope, feat. string players with sideburns (the men) including violin and double bass players, from Mull and beyond, taking off on the road for some of the UK dates. We'll be playing the new album in this way, MHS songs, and tracks from The Water album too."

Meanwhile, MacIntyre is back creating: he will be contributing words & music to a BBC Radio 4 Play for b/cast on 30th Oct, called Zero Degrees of Separation. And now that Island, his 'home' project, is realised, he is working on his next 'electric' set, to follow 2008's The Water, for 2010.
