Rachel Small: ilikemusic because... it make me feel alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lolo: ilikemusic because... music is where some people display affection, show emotions and actually showing off who they are and their thinking. it is special unlike anything cos it goes out and never comes in back but in others.
Hard-Fi: ilikemusic because... what else is there to like?!
Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
Hugo, The Maccabees: ilikemusic because... I just do. I’ve always liked music. It’s just my thing.
O'Bailey: ilikemusic because... I can live vicariously through a song, whether it's a screaming angry rock anthem or a silly kids song ("I'm a little yellow fish" anyone?) haha!
Lolopino: ilikemusic because... I can feel it music in my own heART! <3
Shabee Naqvi: ilikemusic because... it takes me away from the pains in life. It's the shoulder I cry on. It's the hug I crave for. It's the smile that lightens up my day...and it pulls me by the ear to a melodious heaven on earth.
dj.NOMSTA*: ilikemusic because... music likesme!Having just finished playing with Black Kids and their own UK headline tour, Cut Off Your Hands are offering their increasing fan base a free download from here It is a cover of The Sonics', one of their many influences, The Witch.
Putting their own evident stamp on The Witch, complete with tight riffs, distinct vocals and undisputable attitude, you can certainly recognise Cut Off Your Hands' roots stem from punk and 50s and 60s pop. The Witch is one of several covers you can hear in their already prolific live shows, due to front-man Nick's energetic stage antics. Like Iggy Pop before him, Nick wants to consistently impress the crowd and make them respond to the band.
Although Cut Off Your Hands have managed to create an amazing cover of The Witch, this only emphasizes the magnitude of their own ability, and with forthcoming single Expectations and album produced by Bernard Butler (Suede, The Libertines, Duffy) on the horizon, they have nothing to hold them back from conquering the UK.
The quartet, native to New Zealand have played with Foals and more recently, The Wombats who they are joining again on their Australian tour, before playing Japan's Summersonic, MTV's Snow Jam and returning to the UK supporting We Are Scientists.
The single Expectations'is released on sixsevenine on 18th August.
