The first UK number one single for French DJ David Guetta has been achieved with the release of When Love Takes Over. Featuring vocals from US singer Kelly Rowland, the track is currently sat proudly atop the UK singles charts.
His collaboration with former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland, marks the first of many musical partnerships set to appear on his forthcoming album One Love, due out this August.
David Guetta's previous biggest UK hit was the club smash Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away) which reached number three in the UK singles charts in August 2006. The 41 year old French DJ has also worked with Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas, British singer Estelle and rapper Kid Cudi.
The single climbed from last weeks number seven, to top the charts this week. As a result last week's number one by Pixie Lott was knocked from the top spot. Mama Do, the single from the 18 year old UK pop sensation charted at number two this week.
This was followed at number three by Black Eyed Peas' Boom Boom Pow, Release Me by Agnes at four and Knock You Down by Keri Hilson, featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo charting at number five.
Take That climbed from 48 to number nine this week with their single Said It All. The band are currently on tour.
Kasabian remained at the top of the UK album chart this week with their third album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. Paulo Nutini's second album Sunny Side Up charted at number two, followed by Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band's Greatest Hits which charted at three.
George Harrison's Let It Roll, a collection of his Greatest Hits, was a new entry at number four. This was followed by Daniel Merriweather at number five with his Mark Ronson produced album Love & War.
New entries into the album charts this week included The Jonas Brothers, whose album Lines, Vines and Trying Times went in at number nine. Plus another set of slightly older siblings, The Proclaimers, whose new album Notes and Rhymes entered the UK album chart at number 30.
