Digital City Party Out in East London
Multi-media party poppers, Digital City bring to T Bar a brand new take on techno shindigs with their swanked-up brand of warehouse revelry. We are chuffed to announce that the Dennis Hopper of techno, Billy Nasty headlines. Billy may be a granddad to the scene, but remains integral to its underground- even if he does have the dubious (Guinness Book of) record for being the first over DJ to produce a commercial mix. As the founding father of the seminal Tortured (techno) and Electrix (electro) labels as well as the Theremin techno agency, Billy is responsible for releasing the likes of Adam Beyer, the Advent, Marco Carola, Vitalic and Anthony Rother on the rest of the world.
Support comes from Digital City's resident DJs, BarryDark, Tentonatom and Remote fusing all that is electronic from afro to electro. Flanked by a matrix of projection screens, the visual quality is represented by Big Chill resident VJ, Mach V and Parallax, while the evening kicks of with Digital City Film screening a selection of acclaimed directors' exclusive independent shorts, promos and animations.
This is pretty much Digital City's first (legal) foray into East London, having started life in the bedraggled penthouse of an industrial tower block overlooking Canary Wharf many moons (and spangled dawns) ago. 20 years after Acid House broke down cultural and musical boundaries, Digital City parties are best known for their sheer diversity while avoiding chin-stroking in favour of a chin-wagging and a generally stonking knees-up.

Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
Jair Dynast: ilikemusic because... I am able to express my thoughts and ideas with a worldwide audience and make a lasting connection with the fans that relate to my music.
