December 13th 2008 will see the dazzling show return to the O2 Arena in London, where it was so rapturously received upon its British debut in September 2007. There will also be a second Birmingham NIA show on Tuesday 16th December 08. Second dates have already been announced in Liverpool and Manchester.
The Red Piano show, conceptualised and designed by acclaimed photographer and good friend of Elton, David LaChapelle, has been running at The Colosseum, Caesars Palace, Las Vegas to packed houses since 2004. 2007's O2 show, in Sir Elton's 60th birthday year and marking 40 years of touring, received rave reviews and encouraged him to take the Red Piano on tour in the UK for the first time.
Sir Elton is very excited to announce the hotly-tipped up-and-coming new star Jamie Lidell as Special Guest on all the Red Piano shows. Jamie's current album Jim is a revelation - Motown meets electronica in a bunch of timeless songs that pulsate with soul, funk and pop. With fans like Feist, Beck, Jools Holland and Sir Elton himself, and a gold-lame-clad live persona, Red Piano audiences are in for a real treat when Jamie opens the show.
