Sean Tillmann has spent the past few years playing music with his other projects - Sean Na Na and Neon Neon, (whose album Stainless Style was nominated for the 2008 Mercury Music Prize). He also found time to launch a new career as an actor and screenwriter, earning roles in the upcoming feature films Whip It (directed by Drew Barrymore, and starring Juno's Ellen Page) and Lovely, Still. He's developing his own movie scripts and sitcom pilots, building on the success of his Crappy Holidays videos; in each of these comedic shorts - directed by Ryan Rickett and written with John Ringhoff - Tillmann suffers a different cruel twist of fate for each holiday.
Now Tillmann's alter ego Har Mar Superstar is about to embark on his first UK tour for over 2 years and his first tour with a full band for 5 years. Coming soon after the release of his 3rd album Dark Touches - an album that delivers his most club-friendly collection of jams yet, in which Tillmann's silky smooth croon and tongue-in-cheek lyrics lead a nonstop dance party that blends everything from synth-pop to R&B, with ample hooks around every corner - the tour kicks off at Oxford's Academy on Sunday November 29th 09. HMS band members on this tour will be : : Denver Dalley/bass- (Desaparecidos, Sean Na Na, Statistics, Watson Twins, and Maria Taylo)r; Will Scott /drums (The Mooney Suzuki and the Witnesses) and Jeff Quinn/guitar/keys (His Mischief and Sean Na).
The album release co-incides with a single Tall Boy who's series of viral videos have been mystifying watchers for over a month. See the video below, featuring actress Eva Mendez.
