The band took to the turntables in Berlin to perform at a special charity show in front of a shocked crowd.
Report By Justin Stoneman
Aid organisation 'United for Africa' and Puma have been running a series of high profile events at the World Cup, Hard Fi had been persuaded to display another side to their musical talents to help the worthy cause. Lead singer Richard Archer told us "It's definitely much more fulfilling doing something where the result changes peoples lives, at the end of the day we are just musicians, but if you put a message across to the people who come to see you, it is going to be them who can make the difference."
Hard-Fi played a surprisingly eclectic set, far from playing just indie and rock, West London's finest rockers ventured into new musical territories and dropped a selection of r&b, hip hop and dancehall hits. They took over the decks from Berlin's famous Rio DJs Conny & Hugo and sent the crowd into rapture, Archer told us "At the end of the day people are coming here to party. What's on their mind is that Germany won today, but maybe when they go home and take out one of these United for Africa flyers in their pockets they'll have a look at it and find out about the amazing work the charity does".
