INDY Music Awards

A panel of notable judges from all aspects of the music industry will now deliberate each category and the winning artists will be announced at the glittering awards ceremony at The Forum in London on Friday 25th April 2008. As well as announcing the winners the evening will be packed with entertainment and performances by nominated artists as well as some very special guests - all will be revealed over the coming weeks.

In only its second year, the INDY Music Awards has grown from focusing on London in year one to embracing the whole of the UK and is fast establishing itself as the industry standard for emerging, DIY and independent artists.

As well as rewarding independent bands and artists, the awards also recognise UK venues and promoters with categories for Promoter of the Year, PRS Pub of the Year, PRS Bar of the Year and PRS Club of the Year. Other award categories include Fan of the Year, Virtual Festival's Festival of the Year and the People's Choice Award.

Says awards founder and CEO Jeremy Glover: "There is no better way to identify the best emerging talent in the UK than to ask the promoters and venues who see hundreds of shows every year to nominate their favourite acts. Last year we had a fantastic response and a really strong group of winners and this year I am really excited by the standard of artists we have just announced for the shortlist."

This year's ceremony looks set to be a complete blast - expect some incredible performances and special guests and a lot of celebrations!"
