Isle of Wight Festival 2010 - More Acts
Friday 11 - Sunday 13 June 2010
The boys will be making sure everything is all Wight as Editors, The Courteeners, Reef, Noah and the Whale, Devendra Banhart and The Coronas join the impressive Isle of Wight Festival line-up.
In a bill already bursting at the seams, the boys will show the girls how it's done as the mighty Editors, band of the moment The Courteeners and Irish four piece The Coronas play the Main Stage on Sunday while the recently re-formed Reef will do it for the boys over in the Big Top.
Flying the flag for the boys on Saturday, critics choice Noah and the Whale and American favourite Devendra Banhart will be a big draw in the Big Top.
With third album In This Light And On This Evening debuting at No. 1 in the UK and delivering top ten placing throughout Europe, Editors are indisputably one of the biggest acts in the UK. Already million selling artists before the release of that third album, the band have a well deserved reputation for stunning live performances on big stages meaning their appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival will be a highlight for fans and newcomers alike.
Manchester four-piece, The Courteeners, ended 2009 by playing their biggest gig of their career to date as 10,000 fans flocked to see them - a number will increase as they perform at the Festival's Main Stage on Sunday 13 June 2010. Following the success of their debut album, St Jude, the band are tipped for big things this year with the release of their second album The Falcon.
A new decade heralds the return of the unstoppable force of nature that is Reef as the West Country's favourite sons reform for a nationwide tour. The band formed back in 1993 and their second album produced the anthem Place Your Hands. A firm festival favourite, the band will rock the Big Top on Sunday.
Noah and the Whale are Charlie Fink, Doug Fink, Tom Hobden and Urby Whale. Formed in 2006, Noah and the Whale quickly gained a foothold on the London music scene being variously described as anti-folk, nu-folk and folk-pop. One thing is sure though, they captured the public's imagination as the band's debut album, the critically acclaimed, Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down was an instant hit charting top 5 and being certified Gold within just four months.
