Iyaz and Paolo Nutini Top Charts

The UK singles chart has been topped this week by 22 year old RnB singer Iyaz with his track Replay. Hailing from the British Virgin Islands, Iyaz was discovered by dancehall star Sean Kingston. After hearing Iyaz on myspace, Sean convinvced producer JR Rotem to sign him to his Beluga Heights label, the same label that recently put out Jason Derulo's hit single Watcha Say.

Iyaz beat off tough competition from Sidney Samson, who charted as a new entry at number two with Riverside (Let's Go) featuring Wizard Sleeve. This was followed by 3OH!3 featuring Katy Perry and their track Starstrukk at three, Lady Gaga down three to chart at number four with her track Bad Romance and Florence and The Machine who moved up eight places to chart at five.

The other new entries into the singles chart this week came from US teen sensation Justin Bieber who charted at fourteen with One Time, Florence and The Machine at 23 with Dog Days Are Over, Lostprophets at 32 with Where We Belong and Alicia Keys with Empire State of Mind (Part II) at 35.

Paolo Nutini was a non-mover at the top of the UK Album chart this week with his second album Sunny Side Up. Florence and The Machine was up four, charting at number two with her acclaimed debut Lungs. Lady Gaga followed at three with The Fame, Susan Boyle charted at four with I Dreamed A Dream and Michael Buble completed the top five at five with Crazy Love.

The highest new entry into the UK album chart this week came from Elvis Presley with Elvis 75 charting at number eight. Noisettes and Seasick Steve came back into the top forty with Wild Young Hearts and I Started Out With Nothin' And I Still Got Most Of It Left charting at 35 and 36 respectively.
