Until now, JT has managed to get to number two but a UK number one has elluded him. But this week he's knocked Beyonce and Jay-Z off the top spot to secure his position at the top of the charts.
Beyonce and Jay-Z's collaboration Deja Vu dropped to three after a reign of just one week, falling one place behind Shakira who kept her position at number two with Hips Don't Lie.
The highest new single entry came from The Scissor Sisters who went straight in at number four from digital sales alone with their I Don't Feel Like Dancin' single and topped the singles download chart. And the biggest climbers were Fratellis who rose 30 places from number 35 to number 5 with their single, Chelsea Dagger.
Meanwhile, Kasabian knocked Snow Patrol off the top of the UK album chart and went straight in at number one with their Empire album, making theirs the highest new entry in the album chart, followed by Bob Dylan's Modern Times album which entered the chart at number three and Iron Maiden's new album, A Matter Of Life And Death which went straight in at number four.
