Ivor Novello Award
Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall won the award for best song on Thursday at the 51st Ivor Novello music awards for British composers.
Suddenly I See from KTs best-selling album Eye To The Telescope album, was noted as the best song musically and lyrically, pipping Coldplay and Arctic Monkeys to the award.
Coldplay were up for three awards, but sadly walked away with none. Maybe Chris can write a poignant song about it, so something good shall come of that no doubt.
KT Tunstall was also a winner of Best Female Artists award at the Brit Awards and said winning was "an inspiration."
"I've been writing songs for 15 years and it's amazing to just sit in your room and do something that you like doing and it turns into this. It gives you a kick up the arse to carry on," said Tunstall.
Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz were named Songwriters of the Year at the awards ceremony in London. This was the second award in a week for multi-talented Jamie, who also won the Design Museum's prestigious Designer of the Year award earlier in the week.
