Kaiser Chiefs Claim UK Chart Top Spot

The Kaiser Chiefs have knocked Mika off the UK singles chart top spot this week, after six weeks at number one. The Kaiser Chiefs single, Ruby, climbed to the top spot from their previous week's position at number two. Ruby is the first track from the band's new album, Yours Truly Angry Mob, which is released this week.

The UK singles chart saw Kelis as the highest climber, with her Lil Star single climbing from 15 to number three.

Akon's I Wanna Love You single featuring Snoop Dogg slipped to number four, while The Fray climbed a couple places to number five with their How To Save A Life single. Gwen Stefani featuring Akon scored a number seven position with The Sweet Escape.

Take That are already celebrating a number 10 position for their new single, Shine, on downloads only. It is released on CD this week, so the boys could be celebrating another number one in the weeks to come, to follow up the success of their Patience single. Sophie Ellis-Bextor saw her new single, Catch You, climb to number eight.
