Kanye West And Elvis Top UK Charts

Kanye West has scored his first UK number one single with Stronger while Elvis's The King compilation topped the UK album chart on the 30th anniversary of his death.

The US rapper performed at V Festival this weekend and has subsequenly knocked Robyn from her position at the top of the UK singles chart. With Every Heartbeat slipped to number two, while the previous week's number one, The Way I Are by Timbaland, fell to number three.

Kate Nash's Foundations stayed in the top five at number four while The Plain White T's saw Hey There Delilah at number five.

Gym Class Heroes Clothes Off also charted highly, followed by Axwell Ft Max'C.

David Guetta's Love Is Gone climbed from 12 to number nine.

Elvis's Suspicious Minds entered the singles chart at 11 in the 30th anniversary of his death. It originally went to number two in 1969.

Meanwhile in the album chart, Elvis Presley compilation The King went straight in at number one knocking Kate Nash to number two.

Amy Winehouse's latest single, Tears Dry On Their Own, climbed from 24 to 16 in the week that the singer cancelled her appearance at the V Festival. Her album climbed to number four.

Wait For Me by the Pigeon Detectives registered the biggest surge, rising from 34 to number 11.
