After knocking Katy Perry from the top spot last week, the US rockers have managed to hold onto the number one spot for another week running with their single Sex On Fire. Katy Perry, however, remains at number two with her single I Kissed A Girl currently spending its ninth week in the charts.
When I Grow Up, the latest single from The Pussycat Dolls moved up a position this week to number three.
McFly made a giant jump in the singles charts with Lies leaping to number four after charting at 23 last week.
Giants and legends of rock Metallica remain at number one in the album chart with Death Magnetic, their ninth studio album. Ne-Yo's Year of the Gentleman was a new entry at number two.
Good Girl Gone Bad from Rihanna remained at number three in the album chart and Duffy's debut album Rockerferry moved up from five to four.
Other action in the singles charts saw Gym Class Heroes rise six places to number six with Cookie Jar, Ne-Yo jumping from 14 to nine with Miss Independent and a new entry for Will Young at number 10 with his comeback single Changes.
New entries in the album chart this week came in the form of Queen & Paul Rodgers with The Cosmos Rocks at number five and Everything is Borrowed from The Streets at number seven.
However, it wasn't all smiles as Cliff Richard's single Thank You For A Lifetime, celebrating his 50 years in the chart, dropped out of the top ten after just one week. The single, which charted at number three last week, currently resides at number 12. Sir Cliff probably isn't feeling too downhearted however, with the accolade of an impressive top five hit in every decade since the 1950's to smile about.
