  • Sarah ChristineSarah Christine: ilikemusic because... Music is like a puzzle. Each peice by itself is unique and looks like no other puzzle peice, but when you put it all together, you expeirience a completely different picture. It's on an almost daily basis that I find myself getting lost in my music, and I love it!

It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.

Kylie Receives Music Industry Trust Award

Kylie Minogue received her Music Industry Trust award, at a ceremony in London on 29 October 2007. She is the first woman to be honoured with the award, in recognition of her 20-year career as a pop star.

This is the 16th year of these awards, whose committee called the star "one of the great entertainers of all time" and "an icon of pop and style".

Kylie had her first chart topping hit when her debut single, I Should Be Lucky topped the charts in 1987. In a fitting tribute, Kylie closed the ceremony with a performance of that single, her first hit, accompanied on piano by Jamie Cullum. She releases her 10th studio album in November 2007.

"Kylie has a unique place in this country's heart and an appeal that seems to grow ever wide. Kylie deserves this award for her success over 20 years, staying at the top in one of the toughest professions and inspiring millions with her grace, dignity and humanity," said chairman of the awards committee, Dave Munns.

"There is no doubt that of our 15 award recipients to date, Kylie is by far the most glamorous."
