As if exclusive performances galore, the biggest bands in the world, the coolest bands around and a whole host of late night entertainment and daytime and evening spoken word, comedy and films on the just announced Alternative Stage weren't enough, Festival Republic, the promoters of the Reading and Leeds Festival, have announced yet more entertainment for those lucky enough to have tickets for the summer event of 2008.
At both sites on the Radio One / NME Stage, when the bands stop the music doesn't as the SILENT DISCO returns with the Silent Disco hosts doing battle with guests Steve Lamacq, Bethan Elfyn & the Vinyl Vendettas and My Ex Boyfriends Records in what is still the strangest sight to anyone not wearing headphones and one of our consistently popular late night treats.
Meanwhile, the lucky people of Leeds Festival get an extra treat as local indie supremos DANCE TO THE RADIO reprise last year's Thursday night takeover again with a line-up glittering with their latest talent on the BBC Introducing Stage. Grammatics, Dinosaur Pile - Up, The Wallbirds, Broken Records and Wintermute will be playing live from 6.30pm on Thursday (21st) night and, if last year's debut is anything to go by, there will be a huge crowd to welcome the local lads and lassies done good to their home town site.
