I Like Music Because heading
  • simon f bakersimon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.

Since winning Channel Four's prestigious 'So You Think You're Funny?' Competition at the Edinburgh Festival in 1998, ROB ROUSE (Leeds 23/8, Reading 22/8) has become a mainstay on the circuit alongside presenting the first series of The Friday Night Project on Channel 4, and appearing in the C4 sketch show Spoons, and playing Mike in the first series of he BBC3 sitcom Grown Ups.

A former integral part of the Perrier award-winning show Otis Lee Crenshaw and the Black Liars, with comic/songster Rich Hall, CHRISTIAN REILLY's (Leeds 23/8, Reading 24/8) career has taken him around the world three times. Now a solo stand-up performer and playing all the major comedy venues in his own right, Christian uses his dynamic guitar and vocal skills to target histrionic rock bands, musical theatre and morose indie musicians.

One of the most distinctive and talented comedians on the comedy circuit, TREVOR LOCK (Leeds 23/8, Reading 22/8) has been a favourite on the London stand-up circuit and at the Edinburgh Festival where he has also co-written, performed and directed four critically acclaimed comic plays. He also finds time to co-write scripts for television, radio and theatre, as well as periodically disappearing into the jungles of South America.
