  • Newton FaulknerNewton Faulkner: ilikemusic because... I’m absolutely rubbish at everything else.
  • MyloMylo: ilikemusic because... It makes me feel funny
  • JunJun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!
  • Murron :)Murron :): ilikemusic becuase... ITS FRIGGIN AWESOME!! I mean, who can live without music?!
  • deividdeivid: ilikemusic because... its the most beutiful and enjoyable thing in the world that makes every person in common. :)~
  • Ellen, Los CampesinosEllen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
  • simon f bakersimon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
  • Desyn MasielloDesyn Masiello: ilikemusic because... It saved my life!

Latest Reading and Leeds Festival News

Cabaret and Burlesque

LUCHA BRITANNIA (Leeds 21/8, Reading 23/8) are sure to make a huge impression with their late night entertainment. Beginning with a frenetic mixture of British world of sport & Mexican Lucha Libre high flying, hardcore wrestling action the show will get stranger and darker with the appearance of Vivid Angels' burlesque, Crazy White Sean's extreme tests of endurance and all manners of warped games from the minds of the pair alongside Syban vs Manticore's beautiful and shocking re-interpretation of 'Swan Lake'.

Club Nights With A Difference

SMASH N GRAB (Leeds 23/8, Reading 22/8), already one of the hits of the London club scene at Punk every Thursday, sees the Queens of Noize descend on the twin sites spinning the best tunes and playing all manner of grown up party games that are guaranteed to see you make new friends. Dive into the dressing up bx play Spin The Bottle or Disco Speed Dating but make sure you hang around for the end and the resurrection of the slow dance.

GRIND A GO GO (Leeds 22/8) swings into Leeds for 60's garage stylings, tassle shaking go go girls and shaking and grinding that will bring out the Russ Meyer hero or heroine in you and get you going Faster Pussycat into the small hours.

A whole cornucopia of entertainment awaits for you over the weekend at The Alternative Stage. We look forward to seeing you there.
