JEFFREY LEWIS (Leeds Friday 22nd August, Reading Saturday 23rd August)
Like Rollins, JEFFREY LEWIS is an artist unaware of boundaries. A songwriter, performer (with the Jeffrey Lewis Band), comic book author, poet and spoken word artist, Lewis is fast becoming the modern renaissance man of the US alternative scene. With a huge reputation within the underground expect these sets to be a highlight of the weekend for many at the dual sites.
Friday 22nd August at Leeds Festival, Saturday 23rd August at Reading Festival
With her "Shoegaze-pop, poetry and electronica" (The Guardian), GEORGE PRINGLE has been making quite a name for herself of late. Her deadpan delivery and stream of conscious poetry mesh with the music to hook in the listener for each bite sized story. A fan of the GarageBand software (on which her tracks are recorded), George may well be the DIY poet to accompany a new generation of musicians.
