Latest Reading and Leeds Festival News

PHILL JUPITUS (Reading 22/8) hardly needs an introduction. A long standing presence in both comedy and rock n roll, Phill is probably best known as team captain on 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks' and regular appearances on show such as 'QI'. From the mid 80's Phill, then known as Porky The Poet, was supporting the likes of The Style Council and The Housemartins, whose Go Discs label he joined as a press officer in 1986, leaving later for his continuingly successful comedy career. A man immersed in music, Phill is a perfect comic for the Reading site and is sure to draw a huge crowd.

And The Supporting Bill

MARTIN BIGPIG, MC (Leeds 22/8) is blessed with animal-keen senses that enable him to track people and objects with an impressive degree of success. He also processes uncanny comic improvisational skills, both of which may come in handy as he MC's events for the day at Leeds.

ANDREW LAWRENCE (Leeds 22/8) dark, musical comedy landed him a place in the final of So You Think You're Funny? in 2003, and won him the BBC New Act of the Year Competition the following year. His debut Edinburgh show in 2006 was nominated for the if.comedy best newcomer title, and his 2007 follow-up nominated for the main award.
