Led Zeppelin World Tour Without Robert Plant

Classic old school rockers Led Zeppelin have announced that they want to tour, but will do so without the support and talent from their legendary former front man Robert Plant.

December 2007 saw Plant perform with the band for a one off show at the O2 Arena in London. He has, however, denied any future appearances with the band, dismissing a tour with Led Zeppelin on numerous occasions.

BBC Radio Devon spoke to Bassist John Paul Jones who admitted that the band wanted to play a world tour and were in the process of auditioning singers to replace Plant and join them in the process of creating their tenth studio album.

He said: "We are trying out a couple of singers. We want to do it. It's sounding great and we want to get on and get out there."

Who will fill the very big shoes left by Mr.Plant has been the question on everyones lips for a while now. Speculation has surrounded names such as Jack White from the White Stripes and Alterbridge singer Myles Kennedy, although neither have been confirmed.

Jones admitted at a guitar show in Exeter that neither himself, guitarist Jimmy Page or drummer Jason Bonham were looking for a replica of Plant.

"It's got to be right. There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be on board."
