Leona Lewis Retains Top Spot For Third Week

Leona Lewis retained her lead at the top of the UK singles chart for a third week with her Bleeding Love single, which has become the best-selling single of 2007 so far.

Leona held off competition from Take That and Westlife to keep hold of the top spot selling more than twice as many singles as Take That who's Rule The World single climbed to number two, while Timbaland's Apologise single moved up to number three.

Mark Ronson's Valerie single featuring Amy Winehouse rose to number four as Westlife's Home single was at number five. Craig David's Hot Stuff (Let's Dance) single climbed from number 19 to number seven ahead of Britney Spears with Gimme More at number eight and Alicia Keys with No One at number nine.

Last year X Factor winner, Leona celebrated her debut single, A Moment Like This, being named the biggest sellng single of the year. That single became Christmas number one and claimed the best selling title and now her second single has also seized the best selling single crown.

Leona's debut album, which she has spent many months working on in America, is released this Monday 12th November and includes both best selling singles.

Meanwhile in this week's album chart, Westlife's Back Home album entered the chart at number one pushing The Eagles Long Road Out Of Eden album down to number two. This was The Eagles first studio album for 28 years.

Whitney Houston's Ultimate Collection was at number three while McFly's Greatest Hits went straight in at number four. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss's Raising Sand album, slipped a place to number five. Previous number one, The Hoosiers fell to seven with The Trick To Life while Boyz II Men entered the chart at number eight with their Motown Hitsville USA album.

Other new entries in the album chart included Amy Winehouse's Deluxe Edition of Back To Black at 22, Sigur Ros, with Hvarf/Heim at number 23, plus Angels And Airwaves at 29 with I-Empire, Jay-Z with American Gangster at 30 and Chris Brown's Exclusive at number 31.
