After just 2 days sales, Leona's new single, Run, has become the fastest selling digital release, ever. In a year that has seen Leona breaking record after record with her debut album, Spirit, and her worldwide smash hit single, Bleeding Love, this new record is yet another amazing accomplishment for this humble 23 year old from Hackney, London.
Leona first performed Run (a cover of the original Snow Patrol track) late last year when she was invited to perform for Jo Whiley in Radio 1's infamous Live Lounge. The performance soon became one of the most talked about Live Lounge performances, with Jo herself saying, 'Her voice was phenomenal.' The amazing reaction from fans was what prompted Leona to record a studio version of the track, which came to feature on her recent release of the deluxe edition of Spirit (which became the first album re-release to ever debut at Number 1).
Never originally planned to be released as a single, following an outstanding performance of Run on X Factor, it became clear that plans needed to change; the response to the performance was overwhelming, prompting record bosses to put the song forward as a single.
