Leona Lewis and Eagles Take Top Chart Positions

Leona Lewis remains at the top of the UK singles chart for a second week, seeing off competition from boy bands Take and Westlife.

Leona's Bleeding Love single has again outsold the rest of the top five singles added together.

Take That retained their position at number two with their Rule The World single while Westlife's Home single secured the highest new entry, going straight in at number three.

Apologize by Timbaland featuring One Republic rose to number four while Mark Ronson's Valerie featuring Amy Winehouse stayed at number five. Samim's Heater climbed to number 12 and Robyn's Handle Me entered teh chart at number 17.

Meanwhile in the album chart, the Eagles beat off competition from Britney Spears to secure their very first UK number one album, 33 years after they had their debut UK hit single with On The Border.

The Eagles album, Long Road Out of Eden, entered the chart at number one, ahead of Britney Spears's Blackout album, which went in at number two. The Hoosiers The Trick To Life album slipped from the top spot to number three, ahead of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss's Raising Sand and Whitney Houston's The Ultimate Collection album, which were the highest new entries, taking number four and number five positions.
