It's a blessing!!New Yorker Lady GaGa has had her reign over the UK charts come to an end with Lily Allen claiming the number one spot this week, with her latest single The Fear.
The Fear marks Lily's second number one single in the Official Singles Chart, having previously reached the top spot in 2006 with her debut single Smile. The single entered the charts at 168 last week and has since made the huge leap to claim the number one spot.
Just Dance, the former number one single from Lady GaGa was at the top of the charts for three weeks, the single charted at number two this week.
In the Official Album Chart the top spot was taken by Bruce Springsteen, whose album Working On A Dream beat off tough competition from Franz Ferdinand, whose third album, Tonight, was a new entry at number two.
After recently performing at the inauguration celebrations for US president Barack Obama, Bruce Springsteen will also be heading out on a world tour this summer to promote his current number one album, Working On A Dream.
Other new entries in the album chart came from The Rifles and their album Great Escape, which entered the chart at number 27. White Lies debut album To Lose My Life slipped to number eight this week after topping the charts at number one last week.
New entries in the singles chart came from Tommy Reilly, the Glaswegian winner of Orange's Unsigned Act. The singer-songwriter who won the competition and the prize of a recording contract, entered the singles charts with his track Gimme A Call at number 14. The other new entry came from The Airborne Toxic Event whose single Sometime Around Midnight charted at number 39.
