Lior - Autumn Flow
Some people go to extremes of volume, vision and hype to attract attention to themselves while others are happy to simply do what they do and rely on building a reputation by the responses of those around them.
Such is the case with Sydney-based singer songwriter - Lior.
Lior's sound is a rootsy mix of styles that always harks back to the lyric and melody. With Middle Eastern heritage, Lior also keeps the music of his bloodline close to the surface.
It is Lior's voice that has drawn most attention, capable of both power and tenderness, always delivered with soul in its truest sense.
Lior released his critically acclaimed debut album 'Autumn Flow' in Australia in 2005. The album was featured as album of the week on Triple J, and the opening track 'This Old Love' was voted onto Triple J's Hottest 100.
The Ministry Of Sound also included 'This Old Love' and Lior's second Single 'Daniel' on their Chillout Session releases.
'Autumn Flow' went on to be nominated for 'Australian Album of the Year' by Triple J as part of the J AWARDS and was nominated for 3 ARIA Awards late 2005.
The album was one of the year's most successful independent releases, and Lior has since become one of the few Australian independent artists to have a debut GOLD Album.
Following the release of 'Autumn Flow', Lior spent a lot of time touring nationally. But now he is spreading his wings and after making a brief visit to the UK in the summer to appear at the O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park and at London's Spitz Club he returns this autumn for a short tour in September/October which coincides with the release of his debut album on Red Ink (a division of SonyBMG) on September 25.
Featuring 'This Old Love' and 'Daniel'.
